Recently, Binance’s Global Head of Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Nils Andersen-Röed, represented Binance to receive recognition from the Hong Kong Police Force in appreciation of its significant assistance in a fraud and money laundering case involving virtual assets.
Public-Private Collaboration for Justice
In a successful enforcement operation this year, the Hong Kong Police Force dismantled a local criminal group that used virtual assets for illicit activities. The operation resulted in the arrest of several individuals, including the group leader and key members. The group was involved in multiple fraud cases, with the funds amounting to millions of Hong Kong dollars.
To express its gratitude for Binance’s invaluable support, the Hong Kong Police presented Binance with an award and a letter of appreciation. The letter highlighted that Binance’s unwavering support had a pivotal role in the overall success of the operation and in upholding the rule of law. The police also acknowledged Binance’s dedication in fostering a secure and transparent digital ecosystem and expressed their hope for continued collaboration in the future.
