TRM Labs has announced that it has acquired Bitcoinabuse.com, a popular platform for reporting crypto scams.
The acquisition will enhance Chainabuse, the world’s largest destination for reporting malicious crypto activity, which TRM Labs powers.
Chainabuse is a community-driven platform that allows anyone to report and check crypto scams, such as phishing, ransomware, blackmail and fraud. Since its launch in 2022, the platform has received nearly 500,000 scam reports from the Web3 community, and provides free and instant support to victims who opt-in. The platform also helps law enforcement agencies speed up asset seizure, links multiple reports of the same scam and helps increase the chances of recovering stolen funds.

By acquiring Bitcoinabuse.com, Chainabuse will integrate all the previously reported scam data into a single platform, making it easier for users to access and share information on malicious crypto activity. Bitcoinabuse.com was launched in 2018 by Alan Reed, a software engineer and crypto enthusiast, who wanted to create a public database of Bitcoin addresses used by scammers. The platform has become one of the most trusted sources for reporting and tracking crypto scams.
Chainabuse is also backed by leading organizations, partners, and foundations interested in making crypto safer for the following billion users. The platform has recently welcomed 17 new technology partners, including 1inch, Ledger, Avascan and Edge Wallet.
TRM Labs provides blockchain intelligence solutions to help financial institutions, cryptocurrency businesses and public agencies detect, investigate and mitigate crypto-related fraud and financial crime.
